Steps to create a smartnote

1. Install the development environment

QAT, Quomodo Authoring Toolkit, includes:

The Javascript libraries that the Quomodo smartnotes require,
various working examples, that consist of projects. Each project includes the HTML, Javascript, and CSS files, possibly as well as some image files, that you can directly test on your computer.

To create your own smartnote, just duplicate the sample of your choice, and modify it your own way.

2. Develop your smartnote

What do you need? Your usual web browser, and a text editing software - or, preferably, an editor of Javascript and HTML, producing UTF-8 encoded files. This is enough to develop and test your smartnote, and to use all the features. .

Never hesitate to ask people around you to test your smart note, and leverage on your users' comments to improve your smartnote.

3. Send us your smartnote

When your smartnote is ready, send an e-mail to . In this e-mail:

Enclose your project (HTML, Javascript, and CSS files, and possibly your image files),
indicate that you are wishing to get you smartnote published on-line at Quomodo,
specify whether you want your smartnote to be charged or not. If it should be charged, we shall charge approximately €0.50/month for it. The income you will get is half of this amount, minus the banking charges.
indicate that you are the only author of your smartnote, or write down the list of its authors, and specify that you will be handling any matter of intellectual or artistic property bound to its use.

Quomodo can by no means replace you to warrant the compliance of your smartnote with the rules of intellectual and artistic property.

we shall carry out various tests and technical checkings, we shall notify you whether your smartnote can be accepted as such, or we shall suggest some changes. Then we shall install it on-line on our servers and make it available to all users,
finally, if you are not yet an Author at Quomodo and that you want your smartnote to be charged, we shall send you the material required to register, which enables you to receive payments.

Payment modalities

Once your smartnote on-line, your Author account will increase each time a customer completes a purchase or a charged request in your smartnote, and you will start receiving periodic payments. Your earnings are calculated on a 50/50 sharing basis of the net incomes (that is, minus the banking charges) between Quomodo and yourself.

Quomodo uses the Paypal payment system.
